Dunley Lane, Bovey Tracey, Devon,  TQ13 9PW

Dartmoor Reach Alpaca Farm is owned and run by Josh and Natalie Hyson with a little help from Romy (9) and Cerys (7), our beautiful daughters.

We moved here in 2015, started farming Alpacas in 2019 and opened for ‘glamping’ in 2021 .

We have 3 gorgeous glamping huts – The Hen House , Buttercup and Bluebell . All huts can sleep 4 people and are designed for 2 adults and 2 children. The Hen House is slightly more compact which is reflected in the pricing. All the huts have a kitchenette (no oven) with a gas hob , sink and fridge. Buttercup and Bluebell have an en suite WC and there is a small toilet block with one shower and two toilets, one of which is for the use of the Hen House (The Hen House does not have an en suite WC).

The huts are equipped with all you should need for your stay. Cutlery, plates, pots and pans, linen, towels etc  are all included. Each hut has a private deck area out front with a picnic bench on and there are fire pits and logs to hire on site.

Dartmoor Reach is a working farm so don’t be surprised to see Alpacas outside the front door, hens pecking around the field, pigs rootling around in the mud and the odd goat getting into mischief .

Each hut is situated underneath huge old Oak trees in a 5 acre field. No-one overlooks our field and the huts are angled so each one doesn’t overlook another. You have plenty of privacy.

There is a small play area for the children with a mud kitchen, wendy house, slide and rope swing.

Josh and Natalie live on site overlooking the huts and are always happy to help with anything the guests need.

Dartmoor Reach is on the edge of Dartmoor National Park with the nearest Tor – Haytor- a ten minute drive away . There are many beautiful walks to be had nearby including one to our award winning local pub – The Claycutters arms (15 minutes on foot).

We all look forward to welcoming you to Dartmoor Reach Alpaca Farm!

We are lucky to have so many beautiful beaches close by .  Our nearest beach is Teignmouth (20 mins drive) then Torbay continuing onto the South Hams coast (Salcombe, Bantham ) where there are literally dozens of amazing bathing spots, surfing and safe swimming spots to enjoy.

Our local town – Bovey Tracey “ The Gateway to the Moor “ is 1.5 miles away . In the town we are lucky to have an amazing high street which includes a fruit and veg shop , a baker , butcher , 2 delicatessens offering a variety of fresh bread, fine wines and cheeses and other local produce,  various local and charity shops , a post office, an interior design shop , a weekly visit from a fresh fish van , a Tesco Express , a Co-op, independent cafes  and 3 pubs.

There is also a heated outdoor swimming pool in the town park which is simply amazing in the summer .

The nearest city to us is Exeter (20 minute drive ) where you will find a thriving high street with all the big name shops as well as cinemas , theatres , restaurants , pubs and clubs and the historical Quay . Plymouth is the next nearest city around a 45 minute drive away . There is also Totnes – a fantastic market town where you will find artisan food shops and even local Devon vineyards as well as the majestic Dartington estate .  From Totnes you can get a foot passenger ferry to Dartmouth and then get the steam train back. Paignton Zoo is around a half an hour drive away from Dartmoor Reach – a fantastic day out rain or shine.

More locally to us you can find Trenchford and Tottiford reservoirs where you can take beautiful circular walks as well as Stover Country Park Nature Reserve.

As you drive into Dartmoor National Park you will find the towns of Moretonhampstead and Chagford both of which hold their own individual charm as well as various independent shops and eateries.

For cyclists there are so many amazing routes and Sustrans trails available right on our doorstep including the newly opened Wray Valley route, a predominantly level ride from MoretonHampstead to Bovey Tracey.
